John Lennon only wanted peace.
His lyrics for this song say that it would be a better place if there weren't many diffrences between people like countries and religion.
He also says that if people were not greedy life would be better.
Lennon was shot, by an unpeacful guy, and his death shocked the whole world. This is in his memory.
